Why aren't there homeless services for gay people?
I live in a city that offers all kinds of services for factions of homeless (Vets, Asians, Blacks, Disabled, etc) but no specific services for gay people. We have a great community center and even they can't answer my question so I throw it out to all of you wise wonderful bunnies.

Maybe your city doesn't separate LGBT from other groups. They are probably integrated into the homeless population. That might be a good thing...equal rights to the services.

I guess you'll have to just be treated the same as everyone else
And not be segregated because of your sexuality
I think that the government assume thats what gay people want so you should write a letter explaining you would like to be treated differently co otherwise this blind equality will continue.
and you will continue to judged by your personality rather than your sexuality
i would think that would be the way most gay people want it
but i could be wrong
Why would homeless gay people need seperate shelters from straight homeless people.

Isn't putting an end to segregation what everyone is fighting for? Why have a gay homeless service and a straight homeless service? That makes no sense to me.

Wow. I've never seen a homeless shelter that seperated the homeless by race/religon etc.

It would be sort of odd to worry about someone based soley on their sexual behavior, but it's a kind thing to do. Start something if you're passionate about the idea.

homeless shelters take in all kinds of people, why the obvious attempt at segregationor specail treatment.??

They're just integrated. Don't make a big deal about it because then the homophobes will think you want "special treatmant".
