Mini Cooper S Turbo.?

2008 Cooper S has covered 17,780 miles and has had its oil changed only once by the dealer.

Next oil change is at 20 k. Have been told by the dealership that the oil will last 10,000 miles

between services. I checked the colour of the oil just before it was due its first oil change and

it was black and sticky. Surely this can`t be right. I change the oil on my car every 5-6k and

it is discoloured but not black and sticky. BMW Dealers say that they use a special long life

oil which extends the need to do regular oil changes but i find that 10,000 miles is a long time

for any engine to go between oil changes.Surely it must cause some internal damage due to

breakdown of its lubricating properties over a 10,000 mile period of use.

Yeah. Apparently my oil can go "15,000" miles without changing it according to the manual, but blackstone oil analysis shows that it should be changed every 7,500 miles. I definitely wouldn't trust their "long life oil".
