Why do people think things that arent true?

Question

for example i have this friend called Mike Mcginn and he is probably one of the ugliest kids on staten island, well this kid thinks hes hotter then me which he definitely isn't, not alot of people are since im a future calvin klein model no joke. this kid is a 220 po whale that get NO girls at all... is this a mental problem that can be treated or is it terminal? please help.

Well, first of all I sure hope he isn't on yahoo and sees his name in here. You did use a fake name, right? I really don't feel so good about it. lol I can see a lawsuit  already pending on you or else Yahoo throing out the question. lol Seriously, it could be a mental disorder or somethiing. He may have low self-esteem and it won't help at all if he reads this. I kind of doubt if it is terminal. However, I have known a few people myself that are so ugly they could kill a cat just by lookiing at it. Good luck in your career and all that and I will see you in movies maybe. Good luck!
