What is the best anit-virus for Vista?
What is the best anti-virus, adaware, malware, spyware etc...program available for Windows Vista? Right now all I have is Microsoft Security Essentials which came with Vista. I also have a CD for Kapersky's Internet Security? Which one of the two is better and is there anything better than those?

Just personal opinion of course. I use Avast , I have also got superantispyware and Malwarebytes. I recently changed to Comodo firewall which seems fine and I seem to boot up quicker. They are all free for personal use and I have had no trouble with Viruses Trojans Hackers etc. I also use Windows Defender from the Microsoft site. It is safe to use two anti-spy products but never use more than one A/V as it can cause conflicts. You should run A/V and anti spy weekly.

First of all, I'd recommend you download and run an antivirus like AVG from http://free.avg.com/ or anything similar, preferably run it once in Safe Mode just to make sure.
Try to install and scan with Spybot S&D or Malwarebytes Anti-malware to remove any malware pests. Both have an IP blocker option and real-time protection (free in Spybot, available only in the full version of Malwarebytes), which is good at preventing the problem before it happens. I for one use full MBAM (someone here answered another question recommending Malwarebytes coupon codes shared by other users on http://news.dtcdeals.com/malwarebytes-coupon-code to save on the purchase) I prefer it since it has a scheduler to run scans and upgrades by itself.
I'd recommend this approach as I know it works and it will keep your computer safe now and in the future, good luck! :)

I would rather prefer Kraspersky because it helps you with the Internet Security as well. Security Essentials is another software from Microsoft, and every body knows how good MS is with security. I would prefer Kraspersky.

There are a few free apps out there that are very effective. My #1 recommendation would be AVG FREE. A close second would be Avira AntiVir Free, but I don't care for it as much as it forces a popup ad once a day for upgrade from free to paid.
