ok i have a question about preeclampsia!?

sorry this may be a little long.... but my pre-pregnancy b/p was always around 98/60 during my first trimester it went up to 102/65. during my second trimester it was anywhere from that to up to 120/80(that being the highest) ive just started my third trimester(im 31wks) and my b/p is staying anywhere from 115/70 (being the lowest) to 120/85 (that being the highest so far) i have swelling of the feet&legs, hands and face. i have to go see my ob tomorrow because i have been so swollen for over a week. i assume they will do a urine test for protein. but in the past few weeks ive ask my dr about the b/p change and he has basically ignored me saying that it is normal!!! i know b/p often goes up during pregnancy but i consider my change to be significant? is it possible that i have preeclamsia or am i just over reacting about my dr not paying as close attention to me as i think he should??

even though your bp is higher than it usually was, its still normal. the dr would not be concerned unless your bp was staying above 140. and if your urine test was negative, you are fine! dont worry, just try to relax. :)

Your blood pressure is not considered high, or a concern unless it is over 140/90. Even thoigh your blood pressure is higher than it normally is, it is still a VERY healthy blood pressure reading and there is no cause for concern. Swelling often does happen in later pregnancy, that also is normal. You are overreacting and your doctor is right.

I have PIH (pregnancy induced hypertension) my blood pressure is normally 112/70 and it was up to 186/116 when I was 6 weeks pregnant. I am on medication for this and have had to learn a lot about blood pressure in a short amount of time. Even with the meds my blood pressure is around 134/85, that is still considered healthy.
