My computer doesn't recognize my camera!!!?

I have a Fujifilm finepix f20 and my computer suddenly doesn't realize that it's there when I connect it into the usb port. I used to press the picture viewer button while it was connected and the computer would ask what I wanted to do and I would transfer my pictures. Now, I turn it on and it just shows me my pictures like it's not connected!! When I try to get pictures from the camera, the computer doesn't show that there's anything connected to it!! What so I do?? I've tried the camera in every usb port!! The computer recognizes other things in the usb port so I really don't know what to do! HELP!

One quick solution is to pick up a card reader.

Hmmm it sounds like you have broken the "safe remove". Do you just unplug the cameras usb from its port with out clicking the "safely remove" option? If you do this then adventually your computer just stops showning it to you and the autoplay will tend to stop working too. Off the top of my head I can't remember how to fix this but I can give you an alternative way of accessing your pictures.

While your camera USB is plugged in with nothing else connected to your computer:

Click the "start" button then click on "my computer" if you are using Windows XP or "computer" if you are using Windows Vista or Windows 7.

Then a Window will appear and you should see "Hard Disk Drives (1)"

And it'll diplay an icon for your hard drive called either "Local Disk (C:)" "OS (C:)" or "System (C:)"

Under that you see "Devices with Removeable Storage" And this will diplay your ROM drive name as "DVD RW Drive (D:)" AND "Removable Disk (E:)" or "(F:)"

Well this "Removable Disk" is your cameras memory. So double click it. When it opens you'll see all of your pictures saved on the camera or folders. If folders. Then simply look for the one that has your pictures in it and open it. It'll be called "pictures" or "images" usually... Easy!

To view any of you pictures simply right-click the photo you want and select "open" or "open with" from the popup menu.

And selecting Open will use whatever program you have set as default for your computer.

Selecting Open With will allow you to choose the program you wish to view the photo with provided you can remember where on your computer the program is saved as you will have to more than likely browse for it.

And selecting Open will use whatever program you have set as default for your computer.

You say that it still shows your pictures when connected, but won't transfer them? In which case just select all in the camera, 'copy', then 'paste' to your desired location within the computer.
