Who's the better rookie defensemen: John Carlson or Erik Karlsson?

Johnny "Killer" Carlson, though I might be a little biased like Jay. He's been the Caps' best defenseman so far and he just broke into the lineup this year. That's what makes his playoff performance so far more impressive. He scored the huge game-tying goal in game 2, and of course the WJC gold medal-winning goal against the Canadians.

Carlson by at least 7 times.

    Source(s): He's camel clutch.

carlson in my opinion (though i'm a fan of the caps and team usa, which makes me very biased). he just always seems to come up big. the golden goal in the WJC and the big goal in game 2 of the playoffs. he's one hell of a dman as well, probably the best pure shut down guy this team has

Erik Karlsson. He has more letters in his last name.

I like Karlsson better for real, too.

I like Karlsson. He has a very well rounded game. He can rush up but can play steady on the defensive end.
