I've always been told to never buy the first year's model. Wait until it's been out at least 2 or 3 years.

A salesperson is the last place you want to get information about the car. They only want to sell it, and will not tell you of the flaws.
Have you test driven one yet? Only you can decide if you like it. If you see one in a parking lot, see if you can talk to the owner. Check out the Camaro forums. You will find out a lot there.
