What types of liquor to have at my wedding?

I am getting married in September, we are having only 80 guests at my parents home in my homeland of Puerto Rico. We of course are going to have some native rum there. But what are some other liquors to offer? We don't want anything strong but help please?

I imagine that most people would expect there to be some beer and wine offered, and champagne for the toast...other than that its up to you! Some people have full bars, some limit the hard stuff to just a signature cocktail that is meaningful to the bride and groom...

Definitely sparkling wine or champagne for toasting. Usually when I tend a home event I suggest the couple have a few "signature drinks" (in addition to beer/wine/assort. soft drinks) to choose from as it is sometimes difficult to decide when there is so much to choose from. If you decide to go with a basic bar your best choices are below. You can make the majority of all drinks with these if you have the appropriate side items (sodas, mixers, fruits, etc).

    Vodka

Rum (dark, light and spiced optional)

    Gin

    Tequila

Triple Sec (used in alot of fruit drinks)

    Scotch

    Whiskey/Bourbon

    Dry Vermouth

    Optional:

    Flavored liquors for specialty martinis/drinks

    Bailey's

    Brandy

Source(s): tended way to many weddings lol

    Champagne

  • Champagne for the bridal toast....red & white wine for the meal.....beer for the guys is always nice......rum, gin, scotch, whiskey, vodka and some liquors for mixed drinks (or people like me who love Baily's on the rocks......and I can't imagine a tropical local without either pina coladas or margaritas.......love margaritas.....need tequila for that......totally up to you, Hon. The strength of the alcohol depends on the drink it's served in......

    ...and rum ain't weak, Sweetie......

Depending on circumstances, you may want Champagne or Sparkling wine for toasts &Wine depending on the food choices for dinner.

Suggestions for cocktails & after dinner..

    Beer

    Wine

    Gin

    Vodka

    Scotch

    Vermouth (Dry & Sweet)

    Bourbon

    Tequila

I do list the hard stuff because people shouldn't be pounding these drinks and there is nothing inherently wrong with them. If someone is going to get plastered, they can do it on beer & wine if that is there goal.

You need to have champagne for toasting. It would be good to have at least one bottle of White wine and one bottle of red wine on each table.

Vodka. You can use a lot of different mixers with it. In my experience rum and vodka are always a big hit.
