Lets talk about this!!! Mexicans, inmigration, arizona?
This is a very difficult topic, please tell me what you think about it. no need to be rude!. I have about 10 years living in the US, and thanks God i am a permanent resident, and i want to become an american citizen soon.I can not say that all white people are racist, cause on my experience, i feel lucky to know the people that i got to know, i have a lot of american friends, and they respect me, as much as i respect them. I personally see a lot of things that my people do, and i don,t like them either, i know some of us are noisy, i know that some of us are disrespectful . there are also a lot of criminals too. and some other will never speak English. but theres lots of good people too.. Our people has been disrespected for centuries for spanish people (spain) and still after the "mexican independence " they are still in control, all the politicians are mostly foreigners, all the money people have french, english, spanish lastnames. the best and most beautiful places and beaches belong to white people, all the presidents get as much money as they can before leaving the hen of the golden eggs to the next one, they never help the people. theres not work, even the people that have careers are selling tacos at the corner, so a lot of people think its not worth it to wast money on education. And all that leads to so much delinquency, all kinds of heartless criminals. I think thats why people comes here. and its not that we want to be here, cause we would LOVE to get a decent job in Mexico and stay there, but its the only way to have a better life for us and our families. I agree that the criminals ones have to be punished, i agree that we have to get better, learn English............. but i think we deserve some respect too. We do not mean to break the law by coming here, we just follow our survival instinc. I feel very sad for what is happening in AZ. Thanks for reading all this!! i hope it is well explained! And again tell me what you guys think. Thanks America!

Wow, what a nice question... I like the way you put this out there so calmly, not like so many of the other discussions opened tonight.
Well, as for Mexican immigration to the US, the way I understand it is America needs to fix our laws so that mexicans CAN immigrate legally. As I understand it, there's basically no legal way for a mexican citizen to come here unless an already legal family member or an employer will "sponsor" them, right? No one else has a chance, since US doesn't let Mexico in the immigration lottery.
So I think there needs to be some legal way for those without prior contacts to immigrate, then there won't be the desperation that leads to so much illegal immigration.
So... as for Mexico... I dunno. i just find it hard to envision... I like to think that if i lived there, i'd try and make it better somehow. Even if each street of neighbors fixed up that street, and then expanded outwards... neighborhoods could get together to hire teachers, if that's a problem. Can't people start small businesses of their own there? manufacture something or offer a service that people need, and expand the business? I just dunno.
As for Arizona, I do think that's just a stupid law, with no proper way to define what is reasonable suspicion, and so it will probably soon lead to racial profiling and then people will sue and then it will get repealed.
As for those of you with the "learn English" attitude, America doesn't have an official language, there's no requirement that anyone speak anything. It's a free country, and that means you're free to speak what language you want as well. And i think it's cool for people to learn as many languages as possible, it expands your mind and actually makes you smarter.

I think I have a very different point of view than most Americans. I lived in Yuma Az for ten years and I have seen a lot of illegals cross the boarder and I have to say that there are a lot (mostly the women) who are very hard working and respectful. To them, I really don't care if they come here illegally, as long as they start the legal process. It is the people who wave the mexican flag in this country that do not love America and if you do not love America, DO NOT COME HERE! Remember, there are brave men and women, fighting and dying for the freedom and safety of this country and the world every day. If you do not love these brave soldiers, you do not belong here. I love them, and I think about how hard their life is and how peaceful they make my life. Think about that. Someone you don't even know, someone you have never even met, right now, is wandering if he/ she will be alive tomorrow, they have left their husbands, their wives, their children, their mom's, dads, brothers and sisters and they are putting their lives on the line for you. Show them the respect and admiration that they deserve.

Hi im from phoenix. This shouldnt be a issue. If anyone is here illegaly they should be deported that the deal. I guarantee all these protest make it harder on the mexican people here and just piss off everyone here more and more and want them to leave more and more. Let sleeping dogs lie! And you who where born here and have illegal parents here your going to pay for your parents breaking the law and are criminals. You have to make your own arrangements. All I know when this laws passes and it will pass the unemployment in arizona will be non existant and all the citizen out of work will be working. Quit taking our jobs. Quit the kidnapping, quit the human smuggling quit the crime here, go home and come back legally. Just like my grandparents did. Take what youve learn here back to your country and make it a better place. If you like america make your country just like it or are you just pusses with no back bone. Im sick of hearing about this. Again this shouldnt be an issue!

I can't disagree with you. You speak a very good point and that is commendable:) You touch on both sides (why your people want to come here as well as why "legal" citizens are upset). If the shoe was on the other foot, I would want to be in america as well so I can sympathize. The ppl saying that they were here first is silly. The U.S.A. bought Az from Mexico fair and square. The race card many are pulling is an act of desperation....I'm pretty sure the politicians involved see this and are obviously unfazed by it.

Dude it doesn't matter if your a criminal or a good person that just came from any country your still considred an Immigrant because your not an American citizen yet. When you first come to America your an immigrant and when you take an oath thing you become an American. Some people in America are getting tired of hearing differnt languages in schools and other places. In my opion this is America and you must speak English. In my school I always hear Spanish and it bothers me because its an English school and you must take time to learn our language. I'm not being rascist but there's a lot of Mexicans in Califorina, Arizona, and other states and citys. Most Mexicans don't speak a word of English and most of them speak English. Imagine a whole bunch of Americans comming into Mexico. People in Mexico wouldn't like that. I mean Califorina, And other states have a second language Spanish. It gets annoying because when you call a business they will sometimes say press 1 for English or Press 2 for Spanish. Any person from a country must speak English before comming in the USA. This bill that Arizona is great. I hope this helped dude. I'm not Rascist

I think if you came into this nation illegally, regardless of your intentions, you need to be deported or leave. There is a line and by you pissing on all the people in front of you in that line is shows total disrespect and lack of morals and decency.
I will never respect anyone that plays the race card, cries about a hard life or adversity. Such is life, deal with it, sack up and work your butt of to get what you want without breaking laws.

I think that you are not Mexican. I´ve never heard a Brasilian talking bad of Brasil nor an Armenian talknig bad of Armenia. Congratulations of being now a legal resident of the USA, try to get the American citizenship now in order to be respected. But forget Mexico please, we don´t need that kind of PROPAGANDA.

Dude im know what you mean.
Mexicans who come here for drugs and just crime should be punished. but thanks to them they attract more attention then the good, hard working people who just came here to have a better life. I live in WI and i pray to god that that law never passes here. I am an immigrant. I currently go to school and wish to become a nurse.. But guess what, i might not even be able to finish high school if things keep going this way.
Its sad seeing i live a better life then the rest of my family in mexico but im working hard to achieve the american dream, something white people faintly believe in now a days.
All im saying is that the people who are here for good should stay for good. lets fight for our right for equality. If african americans could do it so could we.
