Can I get an auto loan?

I'm 18, I will be in college in august, I have a part time, 15hrs a week job, I will quit that job and work on campus for 20 hrs a week, and I want to get a car loan for 10,000. I will earn 6000 a year to go to college and I will live at home, so what kind of position am I in to be able to get a loan?

Go to your local credit union or bank and get a parent to go with you.

You will need a co-signer and perhaps 20% down.

You will not be able to get a loan on your own.

Be careful with car sales financing.

You will not get the price of the car reduced if they see you as a finance risk.

Also you will get a higher interest rate through the car dealer.

you can go to a bank to see if you qualify for a loan, if you dont you can just go to the dealership yourself and they will get a loan for you intrest rate will be high though unless you get somene to co-sign for you. you might be able to get someone to co-sign for you too at the bank. the bank is a lot better because they wont jack up the intrest rate like dealership do, all they want is profit so the higher the intrest the better for them. you ca also try local loan shops, or credit unions.
