did anyone had abdominal pain at 27 weeks?

Hi All,

I am 27 weeks 6 days today and yesterday when I got up in the mornin, I had a very bad abdominal pain above my belly button which lasted for eight hours. I really thought that am in my early labor and it was really scary:(
I did call my doctor and she said that as long as you are not bleeding, no fever or feelin chilly and it's not painin below the belly button where the uterus and baby is, everything is fine.
She said that I might be experiencin either gas pain or round ligament pain. The pain went away by evenin. But I dont understand..is the round ligament pain or gas pain will be so painful.All I can say is, it was worse than the period pains.
Did anyone ever had such kind of pain? Please share your experience. This is my first pregnancy so everything is new for me.

In the books I've read since getting pregnant they say abdominal pain is pretty normal throughout the pregnancy. The pains are not suppose to be lasting 8 hours straight though. I would call your doctor again and tell them your really concerned and want to get checked out. If they have no openings (lik emy doctor!!) then go to the ER. I always say better safe then sorry!
