How dangerous are bed bugs for my baby?
I just found out we have bed bugs! How gross!!! I've never seen them in my life ( but confirmed the pics on-line ) and have no idea where they came from. Since we are renting I have no idea when the exterminator will come. I have ordered a spray which I will get on Monday. I have 5-week-old baby. I don't think I want to sleep with him in the bedroom because I just see them sucking our blood when I close my eyes. What if they bite him?? I'm totally freaked out, this is like my worst nightmare.

your landlord should put you up in hotel until your place is sprayed.
Bedbugs spread so easily..and yes..love the apt life!
They could of come from any other apt..and old mattress somewhere..
yes, they can irrate your baby
talk to your landlord...and see what he plans to do

I wouldn't think so. Bed bugs are in EVERYBODY'S beds, not just your baby's. They've been around forever, hence the advice:"don't let the bedbugs bite!" They are microscopic, however, and I don't think they have mouths big enough to inflict injury on anyone. Some people's beds might have more bugs than others. So if you're REALLY worried, get a new mattress--you'll feel better anyway!

If anyone else in your building has them you can get them very easily and the whole building needs to be sprayed for them. If just your apartment is done they will just travel to other apartments. My old bass had them from someone else in her apartment. They just sprayed hers and then people on other floors started to get them. Lets just say a lot of matresses went to the trash....make sure you throw out your matress...DO NOT keep it. No matter how much you spray they bury in it and will keep coming back. Until it is taken care of I would stay somewhere else. You don't want them biting you or your child.

I have heard that lavender keeps them away. It's something to look in to.
Also, if you put duct tape facing sticky side out on the legs on the crib, they won't be able to climb up it.
Best of luck, this may be tough but you can survive it!
