My son is 8 years old and on the high functioning end of the Autism Spectrum. He is extremely intelligent, but has problems with social interaction (gets loud over excited and doesn't understand personal space etc) Will he be able to control this as he gets older and hold down a job and relationship? I'm 20 years old with high-functioning autism. Yes, it can be managed. We autism sufferers are delayed at learning social skills, but we still learn them as we grow up. I currently work as a receptionist and the interaction with other people has helped me a lot.
