would 1 type x 12 be louder than 2 type r 12s(500rms versions)?
i have 2 type r 15s and was thinking of going back to 12s its been a while but was just wondering if i should go with 1 type x or 2 type r 12s

Alpine Type R subs ar what people who know audio refer to SQ subs. The type x i believe is more geared towards SPL, which if all you want is loud, you want SPL. I have two type Rs and they pack a hell of a punch and sound awesome.

To answer the question the 2 type r's will be louder than one type x and briank has it backwards. type x is for sq and r's more for spl.
