Powder vs. Liquid Foundation?

So I have always used liquid foundation. I have freckles but not like cute little freckles that everyone (including myself, hehe) wants. Mine kind of just make me look blotchy and uneven. Like I have 2 different skin tones. I have been finding lately that my liquid foundation kind of washes me out, and does not cover up the freckles. It almost looks gray :S Anyways, does anyone have any recommendations for this? I always thought powder would come off pretty fast, but I may be wrong. I don't really care to completely cover my freckles, I just want my skin tone to look more even.

So the question is- powder or liquid? Also, any good tips for brands and products that work especially well will be greatly appreciated! I have fairly pale skin btw. Thanks!

If you want your skin to be more even, follow these steps:

    1. Use a tinted moisturizer the color of your actual skin, not your freckles. If you don't apply this evenly across your face, you will look blotchy.

Suggestion: Neutrogena healthy skin glow sheers in light to medium

    2. Apply a creme based foundation lightly over the apples of your cheeks, forehead, and chin.

Suggestion: Neutrogena SkinClearing oil-free compact foundation in 50 (natural buff)

    3. Apply-with a brush- powder over your entire face, coating everything very lightly.

Suggestion: N.Y.C. New York Color Smooth Skin pressed face powder in 701A

    4. Lightly dust the apples of your cheeks with a peachy-pink blush.

Suggestion: Any Lancome blush is fantastic.

    Hope this helps!

I use liquid, but mine is much more creamy its not real soupy so it goes on relatively easy, I also have a powder foundation that I use sometimes, but personally I don't like it nearly as much as liquid. The powder makes any facial hair stand out A LOT. I'm not saying I have a mustache or anything like that however, if you do have an eyebrow hair out of place it becomes a lot more visible. Powder also rubs off a lot easier and it is basically a giant breeding ground for bacteria. Hope I helped! :D

I prefer liquid. When picking a foundation make sure you pick one that has the right undertones so it won't make you look too pink, too yellow or in your case gray. If you have the chance to get your makeup color matched at a beauty counter or at Sephora it would be so helpful! They'll help you find the right foundation for your skin type and undertones if you tell them exactly what you're looking for. It's a little pricey but if you find something that works for you then that's awesome!

Different foundations work better on different skins. I would recommend you try a powder foundation if liquid isn't working out. Bare Escentuals do really good powder foundations, it's very pricey, yes, but it has an excellent coverage and it's great for your skin :')♥
