What a cute comforter set! Since the entire background of the comforter is light blue, I'd refrain from painting the entire room that same shade of blue - it will be a bit too much of that one color. Instead, I'd make the wall behind the bed a focal wall and paint it orange. Orange is fun color that has a lot of energy and it will pick up the orange accent pillow that goes with the set. Also, orange has become really popular lately, so it should be easy for you to find fun orange accessories to coordinate throughout the room as well.

As for the other 3 walls, I'd just leave them a crisp white, or if you do want some color, you can paint them blue. I wouldn't paint them the exact blue as the comforter, but a pale version - maybe 2 shades lighter. You can pick up paint swatch cards and bring them back home to see how the colors work and look. I love blue and orange together. Those colors complimentary, meaning they are opposite on the color wheel so they really pop and provide a hip, fresh look when used together.

As for the stenciling, you can get red or orange stencils for the white or blue walls to pull everything together and/or bright white stencils for the orange accent wall. If there is any wooden furniture in the room, that can be painted a glossy white to match (ie. a nightstand or dresser). For a slightly different look, you can use black stencils and if you do not already have dark funriture, paint some furniture pieces black. Black will be a nice contrast to vivid colors of the comforter as well.

Here is a fun website I found that has cool removeable wall decals. There are many other sites like that out there. The decals are pretty inexpensive and you can find some floral ones to coordinate with the pattern of the comforter print.

I think blue walls would be way too much of that colour.

If you stick with a nice off white cream colour (not tan or beige) for the walls...add the red and orange flowers and toss in a couple of blue flowers every here and there (very few) you will have combined all the colours you wish. Adding accents with all these colours will help blend the room together and I would suggest grounding the whole look with dark furnishings (bed/dressers/night stand/lamps-cream shade). Bring the colours out with some bins/baskets or organizers..plain colours as you will have quite a bit of pattern going on with the comforter and walls. Curtains can be plain coloured or bands of accent colours added on the bottom of the curtain.

The only successful way to paint furniture is to first sand it, then prime the wood with a good quality wood primer, then either spray or paint it with a satin or semi gloss finish. Lightly sand the furniture before the final paint coat to remove any brush stroke marks. Go to a paint store for your supplies - if the people at the home improvement store seem clueless. Be sure to tell the clerk what your project entails so they can get you the right products. The most important part of painting is prep work ----> sanding and priming. This is a good opportunity to get creative. You can paint the top of the furniture one color and the body another color. Or paint the body one color and the drawers another color. Either way, painting furniture is a fresh new way to recycle and reuse what you already have.

I think that would be too much blue for the room. Take a sham with you and try to find a lighter shade of the orange and maybe the red for the headboard wall.
