Do catholic middle names replace the origonal name?

If you pick a saint name, does it replace your name, or does it go next to it?

If I was born, Jo Margo Wills, and I chose Rose, would my name now be

Jo Rose Wills, or Jo Margo Rose Wills?

Can it be either?

No, the state isn't even aware of it either. It is not a legal name in any sense, if you want it to be you must file a name change with the government.

If you wish to list your 'Saints Name' as part of your regular 'legal' name, it would go after your Middle Name.

  • Legally not at all. I put mine after my own middle name, however I know catholic people who've completely replace their middle names.
