Consequences of breaking apartment lease early?

Signed a 12 month lease with my wife but we are no longer married. I now live in a different state. If she can't pay monthly payments, what are the consequences for me? Am I still responsible for the payments even though I no longer live there? Please advise

You are responsible for the full lease. However you can ask the office to give you you're letting fee (price to break lease) & ask for payment plan.

You will be sued for the rest of the remaining months that you have left

from your lease. The best thing for you to do is contact the Property Manager

and let him know what is going on and how much you will owe.

If your name is on the lease, you are wholly and severally responsible for the entire 12 months of payments or until such time the owner can find replacement tenants, whichever comes first.
