Pool pump not staying primed?
My pool pump is not staying primed. I noticed yesterday when it came on, there was bubbling in the pool. I turned it completely off as I had to get to an appt. Today, I filled the filter area on the pump with water, put the lid back on and started the pump. Water started flowing and I bled the line to get rid of the excess air.
I let it run for about an hour and decided to turn it off and come back later to see if it kept the water. As soon as I turned it off, the water quickly left the filter area and the pump no longer as primed.
Any idea as to what is causing this and a solution? It worked fine a few days ago?!?

Is the water high enough in the skimmer that it does not suck a whirlpool and get air in it. sometimes this effect comes and goes. Also is the hose not got a loop or such in it that might cause an air pocket somehow? If your pump and filter are higher than water level of the pool then a leak on the suction side. Lets water drain back to the pool when off. If it were on the preasure side of pump then it would show as a leak when running.

what kind of pump and pool (above ground or in ?) is there a wet spot under the pump if so the SHAFT SEAL might be bad or the tank might be cracked ..or a suction leak. you can use electrical tape to go over joints on the suction side pipe fittings . I use this as a quick check. your mission is to stop the bubbles in the basket lid .. good luck

The pump isnt staying primed because either you have a check valve or a flapper valve thats not holding. This will make ur pump lose prime. Or you have an air leak somewhere inline.. These are the only 2 things that will cause loss of prime.. Good luck!

You have a leak somewhere. Check the O rings on your pump lid and and filter canister.

Is it between the Magnums or Magnum Forces? if so, i could guess that consistent with threat one in all your seals isn't tight, on the two the glass window on the pump, between the plugs on the factors of the pump, or the hoop interior of your clear out lid. you need to could desire to get a clean plastic ring if yours is broken/lacking.
