How to activate Microsoft Professional 2007?

Question

I bought a brand new, still in the package, Microsoft Professional 2007, that I need for school.  First, the CD had a small scratch on it, so it would not load that way. So I went to microsoft's website and downloaded the trial version (yes I did the correct one, not the "plus" version as someone else asked me). After I got the trial version activated, I then tried to get the actual version activated by putting in the product key, which came back as "invalid".
Is there another way to activate this or do I just need to yell at the store I bought it from?

Return the CD get a new one. retry the activation key it that does not work call Microsoft.  They can give you a new activation key if that one does not work. support.microsoft.com/

On the activate screen there is a box which is marked CONVERT this is the box to select and from there you put in the code from the disc and it will then ask you to validate on line then the next time you open any of the components it will validate and your be OK from there on and receive all the updates for those products.

MS place of work disc and key, product activation is computerized whilst the main code is entered Will attempt to furnish you a fuller answer whilst the above information is provided!!

contact ms support on their web site they will give u an RMA
use this to exchange you scratched disk for a new one
keep the code because u will need it to activate
for faster service ask if they will, overnight it
since it is their fault.
