How can I deal with my guina pig being put down?
I've had him for 6 years, and I know that putting him out of his misery is for the best, but every time I think about it I start crying really hard and I don't know how to deal with it. My parents are taking him to the vet today while I'm at work, and since he hasn't been eating or drinking for the past 2 days I'm pretty sure it's going to happen. I feel ridiculous because I'm almost 22 and I know I shouldn't be getting this upset about it, but I don't know what to do and I don't want to start crying while I'm at work. I've never had any other pets though, so I guess that's why I'm so overly upset. Can anybody help make me feel a little better? It just breaks my heart when I look at him because he looks so miserable and he doesn't even know what's happening... Thank you for any advice, and I'm sorry I know this sounds a bit silly but I don't know what else to do.

I understand your pain. I got my son a rabbit about 5 years ago and now she has a tumor in her stomach. We have been told by the vet to bring her in and they will put her down. I am 52 years old and I can't decide what to do. My wife has been crying every time she thinks of bringing her to the vet. I just posted a questing asking people what is the right time to bring her. I know that, I will cry the day I will bring her to her vet. She is so cute, I thought her to give a kiss and now she can't do a thing because she is so sick.
I wish all the best but this is life, it goes on and time is the best medicine, it will ease your pain.

you need to give yourself time to grief. Putting our little friends to sleep when they are too old or ill will always be a sad time. You have given him so much, your love, a loving home, and you didn't want to see him suffer. He has lived a full and happy life, and maybe now it's time for him to finally rest.
you shouldn't feel rediculus after all he was your friend, you will miss him, it is a sad time, so cry if thats how you feel
i really don't know how to make you feel better, just remember your wee friend, thoughts of his ways and the fun you had together will chear you up, even though he is gone, you know you did the right thing as he was sufferig

To be on the secure facet you may shop the rabbit and the guinea pig aside. Guinea pigs and rabbits are 2 distinctive species. They the two prefer distinctive meals and if the rabbit develop into to devour the guinea's foodstuff it may develop into ill or vice versa. by way of fact the rabbit is 2x its length the rabbit could by threat crush or injury the animal =[ i could bypass a purchase yet another guinea to offer the lonely guinea a bigger half =D
