if u want to discontinue the pills there is a way. u just complete ur cycle it means if u r on pills u have to take 21 tabs and after this do not start new pack for next cycle.

u see next cycle will be normal.

    the hormones have a half-life

of about 24 hrs so they are pretty much gone after 8 days but it may take 1-6 months for your

body to resume it's normal cycle.

The time your period will start back is completely up to your body. There is not a set time for it to start back. However, most will start within two-three months after quitting the pill. This gives your body enough time to flush all of the pill's hormones out of your system.

For me it took a month, but for some it can vary.

It will return to normal in time. You just have to wait for your body to adjust.

Source(s): I was on the pill for fourteen years. Went off of it December 2007. Cycle returned in January 2008.

It can take up to a year. The average time is around 3 months.
