How many feel this is an appropriate post in the paper?

With so many inappropriate question on this site, I thought this item was a gem, and when we answer like this, we get a violation notice..the truth hurts.

You aren't looking for them, but I found your two dogs.

>

>Sigh. No one is looking for these guys. And I see why. They hump everything in sight, try to dominate our old doggies, try to eat our cats and pee on everything and bark at everything. Neurotic, lick constantly. They know no commands, either in English or Spanish. They are aggressive and probably lived in a puppy mill. You dumped them, probably, and we picked them up before they were killed by traffic. Unneutered, no tags, under 1 year old small males. I hate you, person who dumped these dogs. There are no lost ads on phone poles, no lost ad on Craig's list, no lost ad in the paper. We put signs up all over, put a found notice in at the local pounds and if you were looking for these filthy little ragamuffins, you would have found them. We are afraid to take them to the pound because under stress, your dogs were snappy and horribly afraid and dogs are judged by temperament for adoption placement. They would not have passed that test. However.....

>

>They are, under their filth, mats and horrible habits, adorable. They have learned "Quiet," "Come," "Sit." They have stopped being so neurotic and we have broken most of their bad habits in just a few days. They are smart and sweet and are looking for guidance and WANT to be good little dogs. One is a purebred little white and buff guy with an under bite, the other is a brown little dog that looks almost exactly like a miniature version of a larger breed dog. They know each other and were obviously (by the same bad habits) raised (poorly) together. We will get them neutered, train them and get them into a good, loving home with people who use the brains God gave them.

>

>If these are your dogs, come on by, I'd like to kick your ***.

Update:

This was an ad from craigslist from a shelter in Kentucky. But I will remember to use it when ever I find a stray.feel free to pass it on thru an e mail

Well the sentiment is appropriate, but its a rant no matter where you post it.

I got bored after the first few sentences.

    Pointless to post it.

People either get it or don't get it where pet ownership/responsiblity is concerned.

I have seen adds like this before, there was a man that actually was shut down because he was running a puppy mill, he tried to start back up through craigslist but people jumped on him pointed him out contacted animal control over it, eventually animal control posted an add for information on this guy to prosecute him! They did and won, but all 50 dogs were euthanized :( all of them had heartworm and other health problems and just could not be adopted out, I have never seen AC so pissed off at someone before, I used to work with the vet that the shelter usually came to.

well, does it help if I say that I can tell that you have been drinking some of it? The real question is whether it was PURELY kool-aid or not. This is a stupid question and just because you try to make fun of people who believe in God isn't going to make him disappear. try wasting time reading a bible, if that is what you consider it to be. If you look at it this way, you're doing nothing short of what you have already done. ciao

  • I agree with your emotion but take out all the threats of kicking their a**, which I understand the desire to do so. Just make it short and simple.

I liked your first sentence: "You aren't looking for them, but I found your two dogs." Just put that with "It's obvious you didn't take care of them." Then put the description of them with your contact info. It makes the point and does draw attention.

If the owner does call or show up, which is unlikely. Just use the details you gave here, but try to stay calm. Keep letting the person(s) know how stupid and lazy they are for not taking care of the dogs, but do it calmly and throw in the wit like you used here. They will probably feel very embarrassed if they aren't total scum bags.

Good thing you found those dogs. :) Some people shouldn't get dogs, they are too stupid and lazy to take care of them.

I could've written that ad several times myself.

I'm a magnet for 'dumped' dogs. Always, no collars, no tags, no chips, no manners. Filthy, frozen, and terrified. NEVER ONCE did an owner show up looking for them. Very, very sad.

I love it. Maybe it will get through to at least one person that this is the result of irresponsible breeding. Although it would have no affect on the **** hole that actually dig this to the puppies.

Love it! Going to email to all my rescue contacts. Lord knows we could all use a good laugh.

Some people should lighten up, though. I guess if you don't work in rescue and don't care, you don't get it.

  • I think it's entirely appropriate.

Oh yes.. post it! The newspaper will probably edit "@$$" to "butt" tho.
