Make a Removable Fence Post Hole?

Okay thanks For Helping with my question... I want to make a fence post hole, for a 4X4 wooden post that I can remove and replace the post at will. I heard you can oil up the post before pouring concrete.. this seems like it would work, and I could probably by a pipe to stick in the oil to hold the posts then pour concrete....? I'm just looking to see if the oil Idea really works, or not....or any new or better ideas....Thanks!!!! Also Does anyone know of a really good homeowners, forum- for "Do-it-Your Self People ) like us. Thanks Again

Go to a vinyl siding supply house and tell them you need a vinyl sleeve for a 4 x 4 post. It's a common item. Then set the sleeve in the ground to the depth you want, pour your concrete around it and when it is dry, cut off the extra sleeve that protrudes above the concrete.

You can make a footing. Make the hole fill it with concrete and insert post holder in wet cement Square it and when dry bolt on post. I have pulled a post out of comcrete and unless its just a ring of concrete that you can break up you end up chipping the post out. But a ring no more then 3 inches and the rest rock is also ok.

If you make a 5x5 box the depth of the hole, place it in the ground with wedges between the post and the box. Pour concrete without getting any between the post and the box and you will have made yourself a removable post hole. The wedges will also assist with making it straight. If you use cedar wedges they will last longer as well.

    Do it yourself

    http://www.doityourself.com/

You can use Large PVC pipe, Drill a large hole at the bottom and put a rod through it to act as an anchor, pour concrete and sink pipe to proper depth, post can slip in and out

How about wrapping the post in heavy duty foil or plastic (instead of the oil idea) or put the post in a milk carton, and then wedge the post in (upon installation) so it won't wiggle in the gap created by the thickness of the milk carton.
