procedures for getting a vet?

My cat had an upper respiratory infection and I took her to an emergency clinic. 20 minutes later and a shot of antibiotics, i spent $160.

Now my other cat has the infection from the first one.

I'm wandering what I could do to get a vet so the costs can go down. Does it cost much money to go to an animal vet and have them be my cat's vet? And what do they normally charge to see my pet?

    im frm australia ,and for the vet just 2 look at the rabbit is $50 dollers plus anything tht needs to be done.look around and speak 2 the vet

    call around and visit. find one that you like and ask for their charges. emergency vets always cost an arm and leg.
