How do you fix or open a bathtub valve due to Hard Water?

Okay. Thanks for reading.

I live in Nevada and we have very hard water. In one of my tubs, I cannot release the open close valve to fill the bath tub. The shower works fine. The release is a push button on the nozzle that fills the tub. I tried to use some WD 40 and no success. It is very tight and I do not want to apply too much pressure and break the nozzle. What would you recommed to remedy this situtation?

Use a rag and a wrench to unscrew the tub spout. Once off you can use a screw driver to remove the calcium. if that does not work replace it. Most are under 20 dollars.

You can try some lemon juice or some vinegar applied with a sponge.

After it frees up put some plumbers Lubricant on the piston and stroke

the piston up and down to lubricate it. Do this procedure monthly and

    you shouldn't have a problem.
