I haven't used my aquarium magnet in over a year...?
I don't remember whether the yellow side goes inside the tank of if it's the green. Can someone tell me please? thank you

Not all mag cleaners are color coded like yours; mine, for example, are both gray.
Regardless of the colors, the magnet on the piece that goes on the outside should be smoother than the part that goes on the inside. The inner piece needs a slightly rougher surface to scrape the algae, diatoms, etc. off the walls.

If it has what looks like a handle on it, then that part will go on the outside. Mine does.
