Is it legal to rent a boat slip to a neighbor on a private dock which is permitted by US Corps of Engineers?

We are considering buying a home on a lake. The lake is all US Government owned.  This home comes with a boat dock on the shore.  The US Army Corps of Engineers manages the lake property.  If you own property next to the lake they will issue a permit to allow you to place your private boat dock on the lake.

The question is, if we bought this home, could we then rent the boat slip to a neighbor, because we have no interest in boating.  Do you know if this is commonly done?  Are there any laws which would prohibit such a rental?  Please give us the benefit of any experiences you may have on this topic.

here is a typical dock permit from the corp of engineers (for iowa). you may need to check with the Corps of engineers in your state

16.19(3) The permittee shall not charge a fee for use of the dock or associated structure unless: the permit is for a commercial dock; the fee is expressly authorized by the permit; or the permittee is a homeowners association and the fee is for recovery of expenses incurred in providing access to association members. 

according to the above rules, you will not be able to rent the use of the dock to a neighbor.

Why do you think of of that we are on diverse boats. No, actual anybody are sailing on the comparable ocean indoors the comparable boat yet regrettably our ideas, strikes, desires, acts, desires thoughts, and deeds are diverse. you recognize why?coz we are selfish and stay for self in basic terms, we gained't care of others, we like ourselves in basic terms and not all.
