Is doing natural drugs a sin?
I understand we are to be soberminded, our bodies are the temple of god and not to harm them, and all that stuff. I'm looking for inarguable evidence that it is or is'nt. God created many natural drugs. So many common plants will get you high, even morning glory if you didn't know. Now, why would god create mushrooms, marijuana, opium, and other drugs if he didn't want them to use them? In genesis noah gets drunk and Gos says he hates drunkness, but alcohol is not just naturally there unless a fruit is fermented. Things like ecstasy and lsd, that's all man made. Natural drugs serve no other purpose to the world besides getting high. So, if you think marijuana and mushrooms are a sin, did God give them psycohoactive properties just for the heck of it?

If you are a Bible believing person, the answer is to be found in the very first book, Genesis, which makes it abundantly clear that God approves of psychoactive plants and has given us permission to use them:
"Then God said, "Let the land produce vegetation: seed-bearing plants and trees on the land that bear fruit with seed in it, according to their various kinds." And it was so. The land produced vegetation: plants bearing seed according to their kinds and trees bearing fruit with seed in it according to their kinds. And God saw that it was good. And there was evening, and there was morning—the third day". Genesis 1:11-13 NIV
"And God gave them his blessing and said to them, Be fertile and have increase, and make the earth full and be masters of it; be rulers over the fish of the sea and over the birds of the air and over every living thing moving on the earth. And God said, See, I have given you every plant producing seed, on the face of all the earth, and every tree which has fruit producing seed: they will be for your food". Genesis 1:28-29 NIV
Clearly God both approves of all of his creation and has given it to us for our use. Anyone who claims in contrary of this is simply ignorant of the basic teachings of the Bible and probably has an agenda to deny you of your God given rights to enjoy what He has created for you.
Now, there are many passages of the Bible that speak against becoming overly intoxicated, so one should always plan to be moderate in their consumption, however, this is in an entirely different realm to that claimed by those who would tell you that God hates these beautiful plants and the mere consumption of them is a sin.

Well it's your choice whether to use them or not but you can't sit there and say that you don't hurt anyone in the process. Obviously you're causing physical harm to your body. Also depending on what type of drug, what if you overdose and end up in the hospital? You put your family and friends through a lot of emotional pain if that happens, and even worse if you don't survive. Some drug habits can easily spiral out of control to the point that you'll do anything to get your next fix to the point that you steal from family and strangers and then you're harming even more people. My point: Drugs will not get you anywhere in life.

well its important to understand context my friend. God did dot "create" drugs he created plants, man then take certain enzymal properties from certain plants and make "drugs". Everything is a drug in a sense, if it runs any part of your life in a negative way then you are in a sense addicted to that thing that runs you.
AND the concept of being soberminded has nothing to do with the actual taking of "drugs". Being sober minded is a teaching that is meant to convey one living in accordance with pure thought, eating right and working on your spiritual self. Like I said context. Through the ages we have lost true understanding of a lot if not most of the things taught in the bible and other religious texts.
About weed and mushrooms.....if one takes these things to get high then that can be considered an un-wise approach. Shamans all over the world which are spiritualist who use plant to basically hallucinate have for thousands of years done so within a strict spiritual context way before americans coined the terms..."drugs" and getting..."high". I think that we are physiologicaly designed by God to in some way shape or form and within the right "context" take some of these plants to have an experience not a high.
For example....our brain has at least 3 known receptors that are specifically designed to ingest the THC from marijuana, our brain has a nuerotransmitter that is called DMT or Dimethyltryptamine which is the strongest hallucinagen known to man, even stronger than psilocybin which is the active transmitter in mushrooms and many other plants that induce hallucintaion. Our brain actually makes DMT naturaly. When we fall alseep our brain releases mass amounts of DMT which is probably responsible for our dreaming. Infact if we did not have the DMT molecule in our brain we wouldn't be alive.
So for anyone to say that "drugs" are bad they need to do a little research and understand the science behind what a drug actually is and the difference between drug abuse and the spiritual appraoch to the use of certain plants in order to connect to a higher realm. I could say a lot more about it but I gotta go, hope this helps!
oh yeah to touch on genesis real quick the context there when God was not pleased with Noah's drunkeness was a reference to his state of spirit and mind as a opposed to actually being drunk which he was. His alcohol consumption which then affected his state of being is what the issue is not the actual use of alcohol. Obviously if one is abusing drugs and alcohol to just get high and its damaging their health and ruining their relationships then thats a huge problem, but to approach the use of certain plants like marijuana in a spiritual sense is ok in my opinion because the very creation of the human body physiologically agrees with it. Anyone can abuse anything, I mean I can go out and eat to many cheese burgers and get fat and lazy and probably sick a lot more often and God would not be pleased with my drunkensess of bad health.....
BTW these plants that can get us high are not put on earth for the single minded purpose of getting high as the shamans of the world have proved for thousands of years way before we were even around. In our society we have created a stigma behind the use of these things because we are narrow minded and if something is not politicaly correct its out-lawed....if not literally then socially

Appreciating the gifts God has given us is not a sin. Is enjoying chocolate a sin? It's technically a drug as well, just not as psychoactive.
God created them for a reason, for us to enjoy.

If someone takes something to get high then it is a sin. In the Bible, it is called witchcraft when someone gets high. It opens a person to the dark spiritual world where the Devil and his Demons are at and they are not your friend. In the Old Testament people smoke joints for spiritual reasons and God didn't like it. People rest should be in him and not in drugs.

god did not create them to be abused so people could get high
if used that way it is a sin
used in right portions they are used as medicine to heal.
