I needed an anti-virus right away and I researched which one to get. I ended up getting AVAST! and it was excellent (well for a free anti-virus). So when I decided to let go of the cash to get a 'real' anti-virus...I couldn't un-install it. I could only disable it. It is a real pain to uninstall and I still haven't figured it out.

  • AVG anti virus free It's the best and it ain't no norton anti virus Bull s*** list of recommended things: Avg anti virus blocks exploits be warned anti virus can't do everything for you so not all exploits can be blocked by avg. ccleaner a program to help take care of you and your virus infected pc. Avast. I've been using it on all the computers in my family for several years and it is terrific. They update often and don't nag you to buy any upgrades. You register free once a year and I've never gotten any junk mail from them. I also recommend Spybot Search and Destroy the few kinds of critters Avast doesn't get.

I've been using avast! for a few years and it's been pretty good so far.

Blocked 4 trojan horses that were a huge threat, and has blocked nunumerous other viruses from getting on my computer.(I view google images often, and it likes to take me to all the nasty sites.)

Good thing I have avast! to block all the things I've gotten so far.(lucky for me the only things I've gotten are trojan horses)

The BEST and most popular is AVG, but it is a good idea to have 2 installed, the second I'd recommend in Avast (also free).

When running a scan, only run 1 program at a time
