They sailed the ships to a neighboring island. the priest of Neptune, Laocoon, warned, "The horse is a trap! I fear the Greeks and the gifts they are bearing."
Edit: a more literal transaltion of that last line would be, "I fear the Greeks and the ones bearing gifts." Ferentes is the present participle, not a finite verb.
