Would you take a kid to a jazz club in Paris?

My 12 year old son and I are going to Paris - want to show him some of the instrumental jazz music - nothing at all racy, just jazz music in bars with other music enthusiasts - is this socially acceptable there to take him at this age? As opposed to the US where minors are not allowed in bars -

    Of course.

You need to understand that alcohol, being part of French culture, is not as widely abused by people as it is in the US where the even the consumption of alcohol is illegal under 21. In France, by contrast, a 12-year old can drink just not buy. Therefore, your 12-year old will not be denied entry to the bar.

Is it socially acceptable? Yes. You are not going to get shocked faces if you take your child in. The only thing that may shock them is the fact that someone so young is coming in to listen to jazz. It will not be that someone that young is in a bar. In all establishments, you will be able to find non-alcoholic beverages. I would recommend a "Sirop de Grenadine" — it is to die for!

    Hope this helped,

i think it would be ok. Paris is a different culture they don't go to jazz clubs to get wasted or anything so you should be fine. Plus how often will you be going to paris?? I went about a month ago and i would not let anything stop my from fully enjoying the experience.
