Windows XP connectivity problem?

So I've had to load Windows (XP Pro) a 3rd time, due to a driver conflict (the 2nd time was a nasty virus). But this time, it didn't find/load my network adaptor, so I can't use my broadband connection (no IP address). Any idea how to fix this? I don't have a disk for the adaptor. (I reloaded it it without overwriting the one that was there, and did NOT make a new partition. I have TWO copie of Windows on my drive.)

ALSO... whenever I reload Windows, it refuses to recognize anything on the system, and wants me to reload all of my programs again (even though they're all still there in the original version of Windows (which I left to preserve my files, but which won't boot). Is there any way to get all of my programs in "Windows 1" to run in "Windows 2" without reloading every damn one?

Thanks in advance.

    ans for 2nd que:

no. few software (like winamp) if you just goto the location under " program files" and execute the software's exe file, it'll work. but not all software. and using in that way is not recommended(MAY not work fine)

    ans for 1st one:

if you cant use your internet, how did you post this????????????

well ... you can install your LAN driver from your previous version of windows.

open device manager--> right click "ethernet adaptor"---> "update driver"--> "yes, this time only"--->"install from a list or spec...."---> in that box, type this location "c:\windows(ur previous windows's name)\inf"--> next......... it will install the driver... if it asks for some missing file, redirect it to c:\windows\system32\drivers" folder....
