  • Printer not working?

I have a Canon ip4200 that is connected via USB.

It is now giving me a vague error message - Operator Error, press resume button, if that doesn't work, turn machine off and on again.

    Of course, that doesn't help.

Trying to print a test page or even send the head cleaning command gives the same error, so I assume it's a communication problem.

I switched cables with my other printer - no change. I reloaded the driver - no change.

    Any other suggestions?

  • CraigsList sabotage!?

Somebody has been deleting my CraigsList posts. I don't know if they're targeting one person (me) or just trying to mess up Craig. It's impossible to get a message to a real live person at CL... and it's very frustrating on both counts. I have hundreds of listings, and it's frustrating, time consuming, and costing me money.

    Any suggestions?

  • When do electronic information returns have to be filed?

I saw one place that said March 1st, and one place that said March 15th... and I can't get through to the IRS.

Yes, I have a TCN, and yes, I've filed before... but my files are kicking out.

    Has the format changed?

  • Can I use edible in with an hp printer?

I read somewhere that because hp printer cartridges have a sponge inside them, it's very difficult to get all of the toxic ink out before filling them with edible ink. Is this so? Is there a way to work around this issue?

If other printer cartridges don't have a sponge, what keeps the ink in?

With ANY cartridge, how do I get the toxic ink out before I fill it with edible ink?

  • How does an officer verify his radar?

Before setting out for the day, how does an officer (in New York City) test his speed detection equipment (LIDAR, RADAR, or other) to ensure that it is functioning properly and is accurate?

  • Speeding ticket defense question?

So I got a ticket for going 70... WAY over the limit. My question is, can I get off if I can prove I was going 65? After all, I'm not guilty of going 70, and I wasn't charged with going 65.

I know it makes sense logically, but the law isn't necessarily logical.

Does anyone know if it's valid?

  • Windows OS and SP 3 issues?

I installed all of the latest updates on my computer, including IE 8 and Service Pack 3 for xp.

    Now,

    1) it’s not finding my camera when I plug it in;

    2) it’s not installing (or uninstalling) programs. It tells me there’s a problem with the installer. I checked that the registry permissions are as required in the instructions on the Microsoft website. Still no good.

    3) When I go to Windows Update, it tells me I have to change my security setting so as to enable userdata persistence… but userdate persistence is already enabled.

Everything was fine before I installed the updates. My OS is legal and registered (or was, before the updates).

  • Unable to access Microsoft - ONLY Microsoft?

I had to reinstall Windows XP (SP 2, IE 6) and everything seems to work fine, but I can't access ANY Microsoft site. I can access just about everything else on the web. I want to install a later version of IE and SP3, but every time I try to navigate to Microsoft - either directly or through a link - I get the famous "IE cannot display this web page."

The security is as high as it can go on IE6, and as I said, everything else I've tried to access on the net seems to work - it just balks at Microsoft URL's.

My product is legal and registered, so that should not be the issue.

I CAN access Hotmail and MSN.

    Any suggestions?

  • Windows XP connectivity problem?

So I've had to load Windows (XP Pro) a 3rd time, due to a driver conflict (the 2nd time was a nasty virus). But this time, it didn't find/load my network adaptor, so I can't use my broadband connection (no IP address). Any idea how to fix this? I don't have a disk for the adaptor. (I reloaded it it without overwriting the one that was there, and did NOT make a new partition. I have TWO copie of Windows on my drive.)

ALSO... whenever I reload Windows, it refuses to recognize anything on the system, and wants me to reload all of my programs again (even though they're all still there in the original version of Windows (which I left to preserve my files, but which won't boot). Is there any way to get all of my programs in "Windows 1" to run in "Windows 2" without reloading every damn one?

    Thanks in advance.

(This question ALSO posted in software.)

  • Craigslist verification question?

I have a craiglist posting account. Recently I've gotten several notices purporting to be from craigslist asking me to verify with a credit card. It says they'll cancel my account if I don't, and I'll lose all my listings! Now I've heard of phone verification (PVA), but never credit card verification. It even asks for my security code. I emailed craigslist days ago to ask it this was legitimate, but haven't received an answer.

Is this real or a spoof? Has anyone received anything similar?

  • How do I keep rubber safety mats from blowing around?

They're the kind you find in children's playgrounds, and they're on cement in my back yard. Nails and double sided tape didn't work. Every time the wind blows they're all over the place.

  • A record $2.4 BILLION was spent on this presidential campaign...?

That's so much money - a thousand million - that most people can't even comprehend such a large number.

How many better uses can you think of to which that money could have been put?
