Why do I always need to replace my muffler?
Seems my muffler is always rusting out. I never hear of anybody else having to replace theirs, but I have to take mine to the shop every few years. I've had many used cars and I always have the same problem. Do I just drive differently where it wears the muffler out faster?

1 cheap mufflers,,,a 40 dollar muffler is not the same as a 200 dollar muffler,,,a factory muffler must last 8 yr and 80K miles federal law
2 installation..a bad install can let water in or not drain correctly
3 car tune..a car running badly can not heat the muffler to correct temp letting moisture stay in it rusting it
4 driving habits,,,many short trips will also not let the engine heat up enough,,,

lots of shot trips will cause moisture to build up and rust out muffler also if you live in an area where they salt the rodes in the winter will contribute to this problem. If you plan to keep a car for a while I would recommend going to a stainless steel muffler system from the CAT back.
