  • What is that rubber guard trim at the bottom of my cabinets called and where do I get some of it?

My current trim is about 5 inches high and is adhered to the bottom of the cabinets as like a splash shield or something. I'm redoing my kitchen and I don't really know what to call it. I'm looking to find it online.

  • Why do I always need to replace my muffler?

Seems my muffler is always rusting out. I never hear of anybody else having to replace theirs, but I have to take mine to the shop every few years. I've had many used cars and I always have the same problem. Do I just drive differently where it wears the muffler out faster?

  • Is this an OK diet for my English Bulldog puppy?

I've got a new English Bulldog puppy who is 11 weeks old and is about 14 pounds. My other half decided it was a good idea to buy a 30 pound bag of Nutro Natural Choice dog food before properly researching.

Here is the dog food: http://www.dogfoodanalysis.com/dog_food_reviews/sh...

I believe the dry food was making him poop way too much so I cut back on his intake. I am now feeding him 1/4 cup of wet food, 1/4 cup of the dry food, and 3/4 cups of long grain steamed white rice, 3 times a day. Here is the wet food I'm feeding him: http://www.dogfoodanalysis.com/dog_food_reviews/sh...

The rice should help with his poops, and the wet food should make up for the poor meat content in the dry food. I'm only feeding him this diet until his big 30 pound bag of dry food runs out, then we are switching him to a higher quality food.

Is this an ok diet for now? Should I add anything else into his meals? Should I just switch to another high quality dry food and just ditch the big bag of Nutro?

    Thanks for you answers.

  • My company is switching all web stuff to asp.net. I'm Scared!?

I'm a web designer who's been writing PHP for almost 2 years now. PHP feels very natural for me as does javascript, flash, dreamweaver etc etc. I also develop on a mac.

My company just dropped a bomb on me said that they are discontinuing further PHP sites and switching to asp.net. Since I am the only web designer/developer in the company and the rest of the dev team are .NET guys, they see this as a perfect integration into scalability.

I don't have a problem learning a new language, but since I deal with all the marketing and quick deadlines, this is really freaking me out.

Anybody out there make this switch and should I be as worried about it as I am? I just have a feeling the learning curve will be steep and asp.net will not give me the ability to execute certain nuances I need as a designer.

  • Does the rest of the world follow the same economic system as America, i.e using credit to buy everything?

Credit has a stranglehold on America right now. Just wondering if other countries have to deal with the same system.

  • If America was your kid...?

Would you raise his allowance or would you punish him?

I would take America in the back and give him a spanking and tell him he's embarrassing us in front of company (the world stage). I would then take away his allowance and let him sit in timeout so that he can think about what he's done.

  • Help me understand this paradox?

Republicans say that Obama will 'make government bigger, overtax the people, and spend taxpayer money on programs that are socialist'. Bush wants to bailout wall street to the tune of 700,000,000,000 Billion dollars and this on top of the money spent in Iraq and Afghanistan. It sounds like privatizing profits and socializing losses. What is the deal?

If the government is going to shell out money, at least invest into things that will help America lead the world into the future like New Energy.

  • Designers: What do you charge hourly for web design work after a project has passed the initial scope?

Just curious what other people are charging their freelance clients for web work.

  • How much should I charge per hour for freelance web design?

I've been working as a designer for two years and I have a BFA in Graphic Design. I've got a full-time job as a designer, but I pick up some freelance stuff. How much should I charge the client after the initial work has been done and they are looking for additional hours? I was thinking $30-$40 because my time is tight.

  • Obama says if you serve your community he'll find ways to help make college more affordable. What do you think?

Here is the link at 34:25

    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HlZt5iN96iM

I think it would be great to trade community service for college tuition. I've already graduated, but I see this a way of helping communities and educating the public. Your thoughts?

  • Do you think we should make it harder to become president?

Here is all you need to run for president:

You have to be a natural-born US Citizen (a citizen from birth - but not necessarily born in the USA, which is a common misconception).

You have to be at least 35 years of age.

You have to have resided in the US for the last 14 years.

It just seems any schmo with a lot of money can run.

Wouldn't it be funny if you actually had to know 3 languages, spent a certain amount of time in school and whatever to be president.

Your thoughts and perhaps make up some new rules?

  • Should I get an iPhone or a Sidekick LX?

My sidekick 2 just broke on me and I'm wondering what to get next. The LX is $250.00 with a $50 mail-in-rebate. Not sure about the iPhone.

Things I like about my sidekick:

    Best keyboard on any phone.

Has IM capabilities that are superfast and easy.

For those who have never used a sidekick, they come with auto backup of all your information, i.e numbers/notes/contacts at no additional charge. I've still got numbers in there from 7 years ago and I've gone through at least 5 different sidekicks.

    iPhone pros:

Better and more diverse apps/games, GPS, faster and better web browsing (I'm a web designer)

I own a MacBook Pro so integration with iPhone would be cool.

    iPhone cons:

I'd have to switch carriers. Not sure about insurance, texting is gonna suck on it. (not as fast as sidekick with texting)

If I lost the phone, not sure but I'd prob lose all my numbers and everything.

    Please help me choose one.

  • Is it time for Dems to get mean?

If Obama is to be the next leader, he needs to be able to roll up his sleeves, act like a MAN, and start fighting dirty. He'll get my solid vote if he does. The pig comment was a great start.

  • If you held the presidential seat...?

If you had the most powerful job in the world which is the US presidency....How would you use your power? Some presidents have looked towards the future, some have tried to fix the past, and some have had to deal with the present.

I guess my motives would revolve around doing things that revolved around common decency and reason. Your thoughts?

  • What is the line that separates Dems and Reps?

Let's say I was from a different country. How would you explain to me the main difference between the two parties? Is it a culture thing, a money thing, an issues thing? Stereotypical answers are welcome, but please try and dig a little deeper. If you can explain it WITHOUT using the word 'left, liberal, right and conservative', you get brownie points. :)

  • Should my photoshop document be cmyk or rgb?

My artwork is being designed from photoshop at 300 dpi. I will eventually place it in an illustrator document that is CMYK. Should I design my artwork in photoshop in CMYK? I usually design in RGB and convert it to CMYK TIFF before bringing into illustrator.
