Would you raise his allowance or would you punish him?
I would take America in the back and give him a spanking and tell him he's embarrassing us in front of company (the world stage). I would then take away his allowance and let him sit in timeout so that he can think about what he's done.

You are in very good company asking this question. Former President Ronald Reagan made a similar comment once.
He likened the Federal Government to an out-of-control teen, spendthrift teen. He said the only way to control the kid's spending was to reduce his allowance.

I feel like America is my daughter and some scumbag with a mullet and leather jacket cruised up to my front door in a 86 IROC picked her up and took off to vegas with her for the last 8 years I want my daughter back! Obama08

I think if I'd raised America, I would consider calling social services and putting him into care as quite clearly I am not fit to be raising children if I'd brought up such a nightmare,
