Fedor really the best?
So, in my opinion, I think to be the best, you should always try to fight the best people available. I don't feel like that is what Fedor is doing in Strikeforce. He's fighting guys with multiple losses, and guys who are just starting out. He fought brett rogers, and don't get me wrong, rogers is tough, but I wouldn't put rogers in the top 10. I also wouldn't put arlovski in the top 10. I wouldn't put fabricio verdum in it either. I just read that he is fighting fabricio verdum next, and I'm just losing interest in Fedor. I think he's ducking UFC fighters, and I don't really know why. I think he has the talent to beat any of them, I think he just doesn't want to take a risk. What do you think?

Brock Lesnar, Shane carwin Cain velasquez, Junior dos santos are all just starting out
Randy Couture Frank Mir, Cheick Kongo, Paul Buentello, gonzaga, All have losses on their record to opponets Ranted Much lower then them at the time of the loses.
You are right. When Werdum Fights Fedor it will be a Non top 10 ranked heavyweight fighting the #1 Heavyweight whixh i agree is ridicules. Arlovski after the Rogers loss is no long in the top 10, But When he fought Fedor he was widely considered the #2 heavyweight wich does mean he was fighting the best competition.
Randy Couture was never really considered to be the #1 Heavyweight at any point. Fedors first 3 fights in Pride were Semmy Schilt, Heath Hearing and Big Nog. When he fought Schilt and Hearing the were both top 10 at the time Fedor was unranked and virtually unknown.Going im to the Big Nog fight Nog was #1 in the world and everyone expected that Fedor would get killed. What happen was very much the opposite.
That is why Fedor is the greatest of all time

You get to be the best by beating who you are supposed to beat and beating who you are not supposed to beat.. Fedor has done both, and you don't get to be 32-1-1 without being at the least excellent, he is technically undefeated cause the TKO was caused by an illegal strike... but anyways if he were to have lost to any of these guys then you can argue that he isn't the best anymore.. kind of like when the Miami dolphins who were winless beat the mighty Patriots in the NFL.. Arlovski almost upset Fedor but he beat him, in fact Fedor is known for pulling ways to win out of nowhere.. and that also makes him great..
by the way, in my opinion, Arlovski, Rogers, Werdum, and even Tim Sylvia back in 2008 are some of the best in MMA at the times he fought them, they may not have the best records or had been coming off losses, BUT skills-wise and longevity in MMA (besides Rogers) they were at the top. And Fedor beat them all.
I think Fedor's reign is coming to an end as he will either lose (not to werdum) or retire, but I think he will always be at the top of the lists even after, n Joe Montana was still the best even at the end when he was beating lesser teams cause he had always proven he could beat the best. Fedor has done the same.
Source(s): sorry bout the NFL references they kind of helped relate my point easier... - +Hammer+Lv 41 decade ago
Fedor used to fight the best, but now he is fighting the bottom of the top 10, so I don't think he's the best right now.
