building electric small dirt bike?
i have a good electric motor 1750 rpms
and i have a 12v battery
the only problem is that the motor is ac
so if i buy a inverter for 40$ to connect ac to dc will it work also how long will the battery last its a 12volt battery running 115 volts machine ?

Depends on what the type,wattage, Hp and torque of the motor is,and the efficiency of the inverter..

Need more info, such as current or power rating of the motor.
The inverter has to be sized for the motor power, but about x3 as the startup current of the motor is much higher than the operating current.
I think you will find that the inverter gets expensive, and heavy. When you add it the problem of controlling the motor speed, and the increased shock hazard, you will be better off getting the proper DC motor.
