An old question for the new regulars + bonus?

It's been a while since I've been a regular around here so I thought I'd throw out an old question for some of ya'll to pass the time.

What are your game day rituals and traditions? Do you have any superstitions regarding your habits and how they may relate to your favorite teams performance?

BQ*- In the "History Will Be Made" commercials, do you think they're actually playing the music backwards?

I like to think of myself as an irregular regular. I'm not here often but I haven't "left" for good.

I don't have any serious rituals or traditions. I always try to wear some kind of Penguins gear (be it a shirt, scarf, hat, handbag, earrings, etc.) or at least incorporate black, gold, or the powder blue into my outfit. I'm not overly superstitious about it affecting my team, but I believe it's a good thing to show team spirit.

Bonus Answer: (Casey asking you about the * is funny.) I never thought of that! Maybe they are?! Lol. Now I want to see the Lemieux one again. Of course, I could watch that over and over. What a beaut.

My ritual was listening to Tool and drinking a red bull. I wouldn't really call it superstition but I didn't think too much about the game because I didn't want to overthink the situation.

BQ* (how do you know about the * ?) I only see the commercials, I don't hear them. Is there music?

  • For playing, pretty much everything is a ritual...sit in the same spot in the dressing room, dress in the same order (right to left), pregame warmup (have to stop last shot), etc.

For going to home games to watch, it's all about the lucky bar. If the Leafs win, keep going to the same bar for the pregame warmup until they lose and after a loss always switch up where you go.

I like to come earlier so I have time to prepare mentally. I usually work with my reaction ball for a moment, and put my equipment in the same order, but that's nothing particular. No superstition.

    BQ: No
