Sounds like a warmonger to me.
However, if Iraq is now an american puppet, and any conflict is likely to result in large casualties on that side, I would say this is an excuse to 'thin the herd'.
You have to wonder why the CIA trained these "freedom fighters", and supplied them with weapons if they were only going to provoke a war - providing a valid excuse for invasion.
The Americans couldn't just invade a country rich in oil without good reason could they ?
It's like police moles causing mob violence.

Angry and riled up people do not create an organized and level headed army. I think that's absurd.

Sure he's a spiritual leader but he sure does not have God Almighty's spirit. Maybe a spirit of a demon or just his plain ignorance of what a Truly spiritual man is.
