Is it appropriate of Obama being the president to use the term "Tea Bagger" in public speeches?

Obama has now been using the term "Tea Bagger" to describe the Tea Party Movement. This is the first time in history that a president has used a "slur" to describe a movement that is in opposition of a president. Do you think this proper conduct by the president, or should the president be held up to a higher standard?

No, it isn't appropriate. It's tacky. The president is supposed to represent everyone and he should be above name calling. But you've seen this president in action. Always sarcastic, condescending, and quick to smirk at anyone who doesn't fall down at his feet.

Perhaps the commie can't read. The Tea Partiers have never called themselves "tea baggers."

Christian Nation? Oh, please remove the blinders, because America hasn't been a Christian Nation for a long time. If this was still a Christian Nation the Holy Bible would still be in schools, it'd be okay for children to be taught at home, there wouldn't be any gay propaganda, the majority of the church messages wouldn't be watered down like it is today(Joel Osteen, etc), and people wouldn't be treating each other like they are today.

Of course it's not. However, since he is a liberal Democrat he will get away with it, and the libs will see nothing wrong it it. He is just returning to his roots of Chicago politics, and things like this are part of that.

He and his wife are the most classless people that we have ever had in the White House.

Yes, but in April of 2009 the Tea Party began their movement by mailing tea bags to the White House. When they marched on Washingon, they wore tea bags under their hats, with the little strings hanging down the sides of their faces.

If you mail tea bags to the White House, don't be shocked when people refer to you as "tea baggers."

Not everyone knows that this is a disgusting and not very popular sexual act.

Yes, I think it is, because the tea-party is a very extremist movement. A movement of right extremists and religious fundamentalists. It wouldn't be acceptable to call the republicans that way, just because they've got a different opinion. But the tea-party is even right-extremist for many (moderate) republicans. Finally, I wouldn't think it was wrong, if he said that Nazis were idiots.

No it's not. he's the 1st president in history to ridicule a portion of the US population. And it's a 37% portion that is genuinely scared and concerned for the future and financial health of their country.

Let Obama call us what he wants see if we care , he and his Democratic group of arrogant snobs are going to get our retort starting this November . Actions truly do speak louder than mere words .

he should not be using that terminology. if Bush said anything close to that he would already be nailed to a cross. but obama will get away with it. just like he gets away with everything else...

  • the obamanites wont care. its ok for them to use slurs... plus how many libs on here have you heard call them tea baggers? just one more attempt to belittle and discredit.
