Many people say that animals do not cry, but I believe they do. They may not physically make tears, but they are there. Their eyes will water up and they will get a sad look on their face, that is when they are crying.

Many times after one of my hamster's companions die they get this look on their face, I have also seen my dogs get this look on their face when I leave the house, or go outside without taking them, which is why I believe that they do cry.

Potentially, any animal can cry. If you've ever seen a picture of a mother turtle laying her eggs, the tears are streaming from her eyes. Whether it's because she's in a lot of pain, or whether (as some would have you believe) she weeps for her unborn children is unknown.

There's a big difference between the physical act of tears and agonizing sorrow.

They don't cry in the sense of salty fluid coming from their eyes. I think they can feel some kind of sadness, but there aren't any animals besides us that cry.
