Homemade white glue recipe?

Need a fairly large quantity of glue for a project and was wondering if anyone has a recipe. Would like something similar to Elmers Glue All, but I'm not sure if that's possible. Glue needs to be somewhat water resistant, so no flour and water. If have or know of a recipe that works, throw it out.

    contains milk.

Ingredients You'll Need to Make White Glue:

    Small Paper Cups

    White Vinegar

2% Milk - NOT Whole milk

    Baking Soda

    Paper Towels

    Measuring Spoons

    Measuring Cups

    Mixing Spoon

    Baking Soda

    Directions:

    Step 1-

Measure out a quarter cup of the milk and pour it into a paper cup. Next, measure out a tablespoon of the vinegar and add it to the milk. Stir the milk and vinegar together for a minute or so to make white glue.

    Step 2-

Place a paper towel over the top of a second cup so it's centered. Then, push the center of the towel down into the cup. Leave a space between the bottom of the paper towel and the paper cup. The paper towel will act like a filter to make white glue with.

    Step 3-

Pour the contents of the first paper cup into the second paper cup. Wait a few minutes while the liquid in the curdled milk filters through the paper towel.

    Step 4-

Grab the top corners of the paper towel and pull them all together. Raise them up and gently squeeze the rest of the liquid out through the towel and into the paper cup. Discard the liquid. You don't need it to make white glue at home.

    Step 5-

Rinse the mixing spoon clean with water. Then, open up the paper towel. Scrape the white glue into a clean paper cup. Add a pinch of baking soda and stir the white glue well.

Note: If you want your homemade white glue to be a different color, just stir in a few drops of food coloring. You can make it pink, yellow, blue, green, purple- any color you desire.

Nick, if you've got a problem with the question, don't bother yourself by reading it at all, and certainly try to refrain from posting your spam the next time you dislike something. Anyways! this is awesome, i'm actually getting ready to start making my own gifts right about now. (really getting into the spirit) the only idea that i could really mention is perhaps a Christmas themed scrapbook of holiday photos? i really wish i had enough photos to make something like that right now so i'm going to make sure i take a lot of photos this season!

  • flour's stupid to use. well, you can TRY corn starch, same procedure. it works much better. just don't keep on the stove for too long. you'll end up with paste. then again, paste dries faster.
