I applaud the Russians for showing some wisdom...do you?

I don't understand why armed pirate boats are not simply sunk on sight. Negotiating with pirates only assures that more incidents with pirates will occur.

I suspect the only reason you consider it wise is that apparently(though who can tell with the Russians) no one on the ships crew was killed. All large ships should be armed and should shoot to kill, but once a ship has been taken, a night attack by groups like Navy Seals is wiser than an daytime, loudly trumpeted attack.

I do, the Russians have the right idea. Any ship speedboat or whatever the Pirates use, should be hosed down with a hail of rounds and sent to the bottom of the ocean
