Talk to them. Tell them how much it bothers you, and that the cigarette smoke makes you uncomfortable. That's about all you can do. Chances are they will quit when they are ready. However if by 3 sticks of cigarettes you mean 3 cigarettes(Not sure if sticks is slang for a a pack) than it's not that bad of a smoking addiction. A lot of people smoke a pack a day. 3 cigarettes a day isn't going to help you health in any way shape or form, but it's not going to be severely damaging. It could be a lot worse.

I'm sorry you have to put up with that. Talk with them about it how its a danger to your health and theirs and how you love and care about them. Try this, if you have a rule in the house about something and when you break the rule, you have a consequence. Suggest to them that you have rights of being smoke-free in the house and say you make a new rule, no smoking in the house. when one of them or both of them break that rule, they have a consequence. tell them they have to smoke outside or else (the consequence). You can think of the consequence. But just an idea, take away their cigarettes for a day or two or three. If they dont like it, oh well, thats the rule, cuz you have every right to live smoke-free in your house. If they hit you, you can go to the local authorities cuz that would be considered abuse. It's considered some type of abuse cuz they smoke in the house around their kids. Good Luck with this! If you cant get it solved, go to the police and talk to them about it. I hope this helps!

CANDYGIRL might have an idea there. Consider holding a lit cigarette and walk into the room where they happen to be. Tell them... since YOU BOTH smoke around me, and force ME to breathe it, then I might as well smoke too! If they object to this, then ask them what kind of example are YOU setting for me then? YOU smoke around me and are adults and my role models, yet you don't want ME to smoke? This is hypocracy! (I know this is a gamble, and will probably start a ruckus, but something needs to get their attention. Some parents I know take their smoking OUTSIDE of the house, even in winter!)

3rd hand smoking? haven't heard that one. Talk to your parents and explain to them the dangers of 2nd hand smoking and how you can get cancer from it. If that doesn't work close your bedroom door and open up all the windows.

flush the cigs down the toilet. make up a health issue and ask them to please smoke outside or you'll flush their cigs down the toilet because it can be their house but you all live in it and they have to be considerate of you as a growing adolescent? the cigs are rly dangerous and i went through the same with my father, but at least i had my mom siding with me. We made him go outside or on the porch. Menawhile, I'd say buy some lysol and spray it in their faces for the time being. haha, after much praying (my father smoked 44 years!) he suddenly stopped smoking one day. incredible but not for god.

Go to the public library or on-line. Get some very graphic photographs of all of the physical effects of smoking. Get pictures of diseased lungs, lungs with cancer, wrinkled faces of heavy smokers, etc.
The American Cancer Society, or a place like it, may have some very horrible photographs that if shown to your parents may convince them to quit.

You should start smoking like pretend but make them think you are and tell them you just want to be like them. and your not going to stop unless they compromise with you in some way
