Kolkota airport to Howrah railway station on a weekday (Thursday)?

I'm planning to book a flight to Kolkota arriving there at 11:55 hrs (don't have much choices on this), and I've to rush to Howrah railway station to catch a train from there at 14:30 hrs. I want to know if it'd be feasible to catch the train given the time gap of only 2.5 hrs, and constraints like midday traffic, distance from airport to station, and day of the week (will be Thursday), etc.

Also how much is the actual distance from airport to the railway station, and the charges of a prepaid taxi.

OK LETS TAKE AN IDEAL CONDITION SHALL WE ... UNDER IDEAL CONDITIONS IT TAKES 2HRS UNDER HEAVY TRAFFIC AND 1 HR UNDER LOW TRAFFIC TO REACH FROM AIRPORT TO STATION...

BUT GIVEN TO MY EXPERIENCE OF TRAVELLING ALMOST 100 TIMES TO AND FRO FROM THE DUMDUM AIRPORT TO HOWRAH STATION, YOUR FLIGHT HAS A RIGHT TIME OF 11.55HRS BUT IT'LL LAND AT 1HR DELAY....SORRY TO BURST THE BUBBLE BUT KOLKATA RUNWAYS ARE ALMOST NEVER EMPTY...SO ARENT OTHER RUNWAYS IN INDIA... (AND YES U CANT CLAIM THE DELAY ON THE FLIGHT AUTHORITIES THESE DAYS LIKE U COULD DO A DECADE BACK)

SSOOOOOOO ITS BETTER YOU THINK TWICE BEFORE MAKING THE DECISION AS I DONT THINK A 1 HR RUSH TO THE STATION WILL SAVE THE DAY ..CAUSE I HARDLY CONSIDER YOU TO BE HAVING NO OR VERY LIGHT LUGGAGE SO THE MOMENT YOU REACH THE SATTION YOU'LL SEE THE TRAIN IS 30 FEET DOWN THE PLATFORM AND ITS GONE.....

    THINK OF PLAN B.....

OH YEAH READ IT NOW..CHARGES ARE 220/- APPROX...PREPAID COUNTER IS ON LEFT SIDE OF THE EXIT DOOR....
