Apology letter to teacher for copying homework?

Ok I'm 14 years old and me and my friend had to research Charles Darwin, I copied it off the internet and sent it to my friend. She didn't change it and printed out stupid I know but she's a tad ditsy haha

anyways now we have to write a letter of apology to our teacher as well as a detention after school and a referral (OTT I know it was just RESEARCH) so any help with what I can say in the apology letter?? (I know this is ironic lol)

You can probably find a pre-written apology letter on the internet. Just copy that. :=)

I'd say to her, starting with the formal Dear Mrs./Mr._______, that I'm sorry me and my friend copied research word for word from the internet, and that it is BOTH of our faults, and we'd like another chance at this research. Then say stuff like that you'll research twice the required amount, you'll turn it in before its due, etc.
