Directv and Dish are very similar to each other and it is impossible for anyone to say which is "better" as you have not told us what factors are important to you.

In general I think most people would agree that Directv has more channels including full time HD channels whereas Dish Network has lower cost packages.

Yes, installing either system will require an antenna and wiring, typically on the outside of your unit through the wall. I would suggest that you check with the Condo management and see what their rules are for installation. They sometimes have rules that could impact how this is done. Some condos/apartments have been forward thinking enough to have preinstalled a wiring system for this sort of thing. Again, the only way you will know this is if you talk to them.

    Dish Network

It depends on what you want. Neither dish nor Directv have a lag behind cable unless the broadcast is hd. Directv has the best sports packages (nfl sunday ticket, mlb extra innings etc) Dish Network is typically not as good as Directv overall. If you want cable look into Comcast for the On-Demand. Typically they bury the wires in the walls even from outside but it will depend on the condo. Also the 5 lnb satellites are amazing. Go with Directv

    cable better

bundle and you have the best

satellite way too slow on the upload

and slow on the down load

put a game on, & the play is over on cable, while it is just finishing on satellite.

they usually try to come through a window with the ugly dish hung on the outside.

if the grommet wrong size draft evident

Reminds me of those TV antennas of the 50's & 60"s

    NEITHER.

If they didn't add wires, they'd have to transmit it through the air, and then anyone within range could receive the service.
